This is an incredible vintage Geoffrey Beene gold metallic and black chantilly lace evening dress with a layered lace skirt. This rare designer dress is such a beautiful example of Geoffrey Beene's talent for using fabrics in extraordinary ways. The in black lace is woven with gold metallic flowers, and the hemline is scalloped. Geoffrey Beene loved using lace because it doesn't wrinkle and can be manipulated easily. Beene love strategically placing cut outs and shapes to define the silhouette and this dress also shows his ability to create garments that move with fluidity!

The dress has a almost solid gold metallic bodice with the gold and black lace partial overlay, giving the appearance of a built in bolero. There are lovely sheer, raglan sleeves with scalloped edges and the dress closes with a back zipper. Marked as a size 6 and Made in the USA.
